What are Transcription Labels Used For? Explain & Get A Free Cartridge.

I'm one of those people that think the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. So I'll ask...
Can anyone out there explain what transcription labels are used for? What is transcription. Is it a noun or a verb? Do you transcribe something? Is it used just in the Medical industry? Do attorneys use them too? Are they used by construction workers as well? just kidding on this one!
All I know, and I feel bad about it, is that we have transcription labels at www.tlcIT.com and they come various shapes and basically (2) two formats
Transcription Labels on 8.5 x 11" sheets for your desktop printer or copier.
This type comes in (2) two sizes:
8" X 1" White Transcription Labels
OR
8" X 2" White Transcription Labels
AND
Transcription labels for pinfeed printers
There's (3) three sizes of transcription labels here:
7.75" X 1" White Transcription Label - Pinfeed
7.75" X 12" White Transcription Label - Pinfeed
7.75" X 2" White Transcription Label - Pinfeed
Can you explain what they are used for? First one to explain in fairly good detail that satisfies me will get a Free Black Inkjet Cartridge or Laser Cartridge!

Most transcription lables are used for legal or medical transcription. Typically a physician will tape record a short audio file for each patient they see. Then the audio files are transcribed by a typist. Then the label is inserted into the patients file. Having labels saves space, as you can put on the short label, instead of a whole sheet of paper for each visit.
However,I use the 8x2 inch labels for custom water bottle labels. For a party or shower, they fit many brands of water bottles perfectly. Make sure you use a laser printer or ink will run.
