OEM Cartridges & Knowing Your Rights
OEM is an abbreviation for "Original Equipment Manufacturer".
OEM cartridges are the "brand name" cartridges that usually come installed with the printer you buy.
OEM cartridges have brand names like Hewlett-Packard, Canon, IBM, Sharp, Lexmark, Brother, Epson, Dell etc.
These OEM cartridges may or may not be manufactured by the company that produces the actual printer.
You may be led to believe that using anything other than the OEM or "brand name" cartridge that came with your printer will void the warranty in your printer.
This is not true.
As a matter of fact, the U.S. Congress passed the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act, you can read more about this Act on the Federal Trade Commission website and also on our website by clicking on the link:Know Your Rights.
Don't be fooled that OEM cartridges are your only options!
